Free SEO Tools from Telescope
Today we’re launching a directory of free SEO tools that can be used by anyone at no cost, without the need for an account. We’ve built these tools to help you check different aspects of your website’s SEO health and improve it. In this post, I’d like to go through some of the tools that are going live in this release.

Sitemap Checker
Sometimes it’s useful to have a quick way to check if your website’s sitemap is accessible and valid. Our Sitemap Checker tool does exactly that. You can enter the URL of your website and get a full list of all the sitemaps as well as any issues that might be present there.
Sitemap checker helps to ensure that search engines can easily find and index all the pages on your website.
Readability Score
It’s important to make sure your text is easy to read and understand. Our Readability Score tool analyzes the web page you provide and gives you a score based on multiple formulas. Free version of the tool calculates score based on the following formulas:
Values here help you understand how good is your text on the high level and if it needs any improvements.
Robots.txt Tester
This tool allows you to preview the content of your website’s robots.txt file and check if there are any issues with it. Robots.txt file is used to tell search engines which pages they should and shouldn’t index. It’s important to make sure that this file is accessible and correctly configured.
This tool also allows you to test different user-agents and see how they would interpret your robots.txt file.
Meta Tags Checker
Meta tags are used by search engines, social media sites and other crawlers to understand what your web page is about. Our Meta Tags Checker tool allows you to see all the meta tags present on your web page and check if they are correctly configured.
The tool also highlights which meta-tags are used by Google and helps you understand how they affect your website’s SEO.
Canonical Tag Test
It’s important to have a correct canonical tag set on each page of your website to avoid duplicate content issues. Even having a self-referencing canonical tag is better than not having it at all. Our Canonical Tag Test tool allows you to check if the canonical tag is present on the page and if it’s set correctly.

- HTTP Headers & Status Code Checker: Check HTTP headers and status code of any page on the web.
- SPF Records Test: Check SPF records of your domain and make sure they are correctly configured.
- URL Redirect Checker: Identify 301, 302, and other redirect status codes for any page on your website.
- Meta Tags Checker: Help you to find out if your meta tags are optimized for search engines.
- Page Spell Checker: Check spelling on any page of your site.
- Web Page Crawl Test: Test if Search Engines can access, crawl and index specific page on your website.
- Internal Links Checker: This tool can show you how many links of a certain type your page contains and show anchor text, and follow, nofollow attributes.
- Web Page Size Checker: Check the size of a webpage and its resources.
- Open Graph Checker And Generator: Check and generate Open Graph meta tags for your website.
- Image Alt Test: Check if all images on the webpage are using alt attributes. Alt attributes provide alternative text descriptions for images, improving accessibility and SEO.
- Favicon Test: Check if your webpage is using a favicon and if it’s implemented correctly.
- Meta Refresh Test: This test will check if your webpage is using a refresh meta tag to redirect users to another page.
